Last night my son exposed me to the biggest star that science has discovered to date. The name of the star is VY Canis Majoris. Before I begin to spew my Astronomical ignorance or steal the thunder from the video we have embedded, let me just say that this star is huge. Even the name, Canis (dog) Majoris (big), implies the girth of this big dog star. The picture shows its size as compared to the earth’s orbit around the sun. I see this and all of a sudden I am struck with the immensity of our God and the finiteness of myself. Our God literally spoke a word and the universe came into play including Canis Majoris.

What does that have to do with our money you say? Many of our clients have forgotten how big our God is and what He is able to do. We stress over bills and our own money trouble as if we were alone in the universe. We isolate ourselves from others and try to go it alone because we are embarrassed or overwhelmed. In typical human fashion, we say to ourselves, “we got ourselves into this mess and we will get ourselves out of it.” But, the Creator of the red hypergiant stars wants to come along side us in our times of trouble. He tells us in Matthew 6:33 – Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and will give us the necessities of our lives. Romans 8:32 says – the same God who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all will He freely gives us what we need.
